Moriah Murrell Featuring A Metallic Smokey Eye

Behind the scenes with Moriah Murrell talking about how to get that metallic smokey eye we all have been seeing.

My new obbsession has been Calvin Klein’s One Collection. All the products are light, easy to use, and create a beautiful finish.

When creating Moriah’s night time look, I thought that it would be best to keep it simple with a smokey eye. I decided to add a metallic finish to create a fun new edge.

After countouring, highlighting, and setting the face, I used a variety of pigment powders to create the perfect blend of colors for the smokey eye. When working with eye shadows it is important to have three different shades. One to apply underneath the brow to highlight the eyes, two to cover the lid creating a base to work from, and finally a third color to work within the crease of the eye. For the metallic smokey eye I used colors that all had a gray base.

After applying the pigments and blending them to creat a subtle transition from the brow down to the lid (working light to dark), I used CK’s One 800 empowered to create a shimmery finish. I blended this all across the eye lid using a soft tip smudge brush. After I used a silver eye pencil to line the water duct and apply a little in the corner of the eyes to make them pop. Finally curl the lashes and apply mascara.

Moriah’s metallic smokey was a perfect complimentary look for her flirty night outfit.

Below is a short little interview with Moriah talking about some of her favorite beauty products.

1) What is your "can't live without product" that you always carry around in your purse?

I obsessively use Caudalie lip conditioner. It is always with me! It's so nourishing and smooth.

2) What is your favorite makeup or hair trend this summer?

The long bob is in and I'm so tempted to chop off all my hair! What do you think?

3) Describe the meaning behind your blog?

I wanted to start a blog to share my personal style and inspire people with casual, cool style.
